ULTRASOUND THERAPY
Ultrasound therapy is a technique used in physiotherapy based on the emission of high-frequency sound waves that are imperceptible to human hearing but have a profound effect on the tissues. These waves are transmitted through a treatment tip applied directly to the skin with the help of a special gel that facilitates the conduction of the waves.
The frequency used (1-3 MHz) penetrates up to 5 cm deep and produces a cellular micromassage and localized heating. These effects help accelerate healing processes, reduce chronic inflammation, relieve pain and increase mobility.
Ultrasound therapy is indicated for a wide range of musculoskeletal and rheumatic conditions, as well as in recovery after trauma or surgery. It is also used in aesthetic treatments to combat cellulite and localized remodeling.
The therapy is painless and of short duration (5-15 minutes per area), but with significant cumulative effects after several sessions.

Ultrasound therapy for healing and pain relief
Deep, precise and non-invasive therapy for inflammation, muscle contractures and joint conditions
Ultrasound therapy is a modern therapeutic procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to penetrate deep into tissues, with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and regenerative effects. It is a commonly recommended method in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and in medical rehabilitation, due to its effectiveness and excellent patient tolerance.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The main indications of ultrasound therapy are:
- Chronic rheumatic conditions (arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis)
- Post-traumatic and post-operative recovery
- Chronic muscle aches and pains
- Fibrosis, retractile scars
- Stimulate tissue drainage and regeneration
CONTRAINDICATIONS
The procedure is not recommended for patients with the following conditions:
- Pregnancy (abdominal/lumbar area)
- Active or suspected oncologic tumors
- Acute thrombophlebitis
- Areas with metal prostheses (without medical advice)
- Implanted electronic devices (e.g. pacemaker)
Contraindications are not absolute.
A specialist medical consultation and doctor's approval is essential.
Frequently asked questions about ultrasound therapy
No. Ultrasound therapy is completely painless. The patient may feel a slight warmth or vibration in the treated area.
It can only be applied with medical advice and at a distance from the metal or electronic implant.
Yes. Ultrasonotherapy is often combined with electrotherapy, physiotherapy or massage therapy for better results.
